Leanne started the first version of Prelude Studios in 2007. She was a new Music Therapist in Saskatoon and wanted to devote her practice to working with children with developmental disabilities. She started teaching Kindermusik at the same time, originally teaching for Kindermusik with Kari and Friends. In 2019 Miss Kari retired so Miss Leanne took over the Kindermusik business, combining it with her music therapy practice because, well, they just fit so well together! Since then, the focus of Prelude Studios has been to enrich lives and foster connection through engaging and accessible music experiences that inspire growth, learning, and joy.

You deserve to be in good hands! At Prelude Studios you'll meet highly trained, caring professionals who understand both child development and the power of music. Whether you're here for Kindermusik classes or music therapy, everything is purposefully designed to support your child in a way that is effective but just feels fun and simple.

I've been a Certified Music Therapist and Kindermusik Educator in Saskatoon since 2007. I studied music therapy at the University of Windsor after completing Bachelor's degrees in piano performance and psychology at the University of Saskatchewan. I am also trained in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT).
My passion has always been working with children and their families, focusing on their strengths and interests to connect, teach, and provide a therapeutic environment. Music provides such a unique opportunity for connection and it's my mission to bring that to as many people as possible through both Music Therapy and Kindermusik classes.
When I'm not working you'll find me either taking my 3 kids to their various activities, playing with my dog, or planning the driving schedule for the next day with my husband!

I am a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) with a Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy, and a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Concordia University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Saskatchewan.
I work with both individuals and groups, supporting people across the lifespan. While I have a particular interest in working with children and adults with disabilities, I value working with people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds.
My practice is grounded in a Post-Ableist Music Therapy approach. This means I strive to create therapeutic spaces that reduce ableist barriers by working collaboratively with individuals and communities. Through music and music-based experiences, I aim to foster connection, support self-expression, and open up new possibilities for engagement in ways that feel accessible, affirming, and less restrictive.
Music therapy sessions are tailored to each person’s unique goals and may support communication, physical development, emotional expression, social connection, and cognitive domains. As a certified therapist, I use music intentionally to promote overall well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

I studied at Capilano University in North Vancouver, where I completed my music therapy training. I especially love working in mental health with adolescents and supporting them in finding meaningful ways to express themselves. Creating social media content is a fun creative outlet for me, and it also gives me the chance to advocate for and educate others about the value of music therapy.
A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love doing puzzles. My favourite is putting a good movie on and doing a puzzle for the evening!
